The Nest
The Nest provides a safe, friendly and stimulating environment for children aged 6 months to 3 years. In November 2011, Ofsted rated our childcare provision as being 'Outstanding'.
The Nest, as an integral part of our whole Centre, is overseen by the Haven Senior Leadership Team and Nursery Manager who collectively have an abundance of relevant experience and early years knowledge. We believe this leadership, combined with our highly dedicated and committed team of Nest staff allows us to offer an extremely high standard of childcare and development, possibly unrivalled within the region. When children move on from The Nest, they enter our Ofsted 'outstanding' nursery school, The Hive, before finally moving onto school.
While forming a part of our larger Centre, The Nest offers a relaxed and cosy home from home atmosphere so you can leave your child confidently knowing they will be cared for by experienced and qualified practitioners.

The Nest is a well equipped area with excellent facilities for children to develop and grow. Children are generally allocated to a 'family group' and work closely with their key persons. There is ample space and opportunity within the Nest for children to explore at their own pace.

The Nest is a cosy and comfortable setting for children to explore, interact and enhance their learning. Meanwhile, the outdoor areas offer great learning opportunities as well as space for some good old fashioned fun!

We are also very fortunate to have access to our on-site Forest Garden. This presents massive learning and development potential for our children and all our children regularly access this extremely popular area.

We strongly recommend that all prospective parents come and visit us to find out more and to see for themselves the fantastic array of facilities we can offer. We understand that choosing a suitable setting for your child is a huge decision so during your visit we will happily answer the questions you will undoubtedly have.
Our current prospectus provides further information about The Nest.

Leaving The Nest
Unfortunately, children do grow up, so at the start of the term following their 3rd birthday each child will move on to The Hive, which is located adjacent to The Nest. From this age, each child is entitled to 15 'free' government funded hours per week during term-time. We put a great deal of effort into ensuring a smooth transition for each child into their new environment. Regular visits by the children to The Hive will take place in the months leading up to their move. Initially, these visits will always be accompanied by their Nest key person. The frequency of the visits increases as the time to move on approaches and introductions are made to the new key persons. This is always an exciting, and sometimes daunting time for both parents and children, and we work closely to ensure that individual needs are met.
